The importance: The diva has been missing from the pop landscape since 2003, when she released a holiday-themed collection. Much of the singer's headlines over the past few years have been more of the tabloid nature, focusing on health issues and her marriage to Bobby Brown. But the public loves a good comeback, as evidenced by Mariah Carey with her "The Emancipation of Mimi," and a new Whitney album -- one that's not embarrassing -- would surely ascend to blockbuster status in a matter of weeks, if not days. Indeed, it's not just the Sony BMG brass who would likely be hungry for some new Whitney content. Just check the success that met Leona Lewis, and her Whitney-influenced smash "Bleeding Love."

自2003年發行耶誕專輯後,這位天后就消失於樂壇. 接著幾年消息都圍繞著她個人的健康問題和與巴比布朗的婚姻上. 不過美國大眾一向看喜歡大復出的戲碼, Mariah Carey The Emancipation of Mimi 的成功是最好的例子, 一張不失禮的惠妮復出專輯, 幾週內(或幾天內)要大賣應該不成問題. 的確, 並不是只有惠妮所屬的Sony BMG唱片公司"求惠若渴", 你只要看看一首帶著濃濃惠妮味的Bleeding Love有多成功就可以知道 (一般大眾也渴望聽到惠妮新歌).

提前洩漏的新歌已經在網路上如火如荼的傳遞開來, 大多數人的反應都很正面, 看似小倆口因分離而想念的歌詞其實也傳遞出些許"悔過“的心情, "I want you to love me, like I never left" 虛耗光陰多年的惠妮還是希望大家繼續愛她, 一切重新再來, 就當做她從來沒離開過.

只是奇怪的是, 預定11月發行的專輯竟然在七月就有新歌流出, 而且惠妮的官方myspace已經把這首歌放在首頁播放, 讓人不得不懷疑這首歌是真的不小心洩漏出來的？還是根本是為新專輯暖身的行銷伎倆？有人說這首歌可能本來就不會收錄進專輯, 但歌詞所傳達的訊息很適合惠妮這次"comeback"的主題, 所以就當做預告片為專輯事先加溫; 也有人說這首歌可能是唱片公司用來試水溫的犧牲打, 拿來試試看惠妮人氣還剩多少？對這樣新曲風的接受度如何？不論如何, 已經饑渴到快脫水而死的歌迷終於有一首惠妮的新歌可以聽, 而且是一首用心在唱的歌, 不像Family First讓人聽了一遍就不想聽第二遍, 也讓大家更期待新專輯的發行！

R Kelly 自彈自唱他寫給惠妮的新歌 "I Look To You"，聽歌詞是首勵志型的福音類歌曲，光看這名字就知道很適合"拉Ｕ"天后來唱吧..哈! R Kelly 唱到主持人都哭了....

好消息！惠妮新專輯從今天正式開始動工！根據 FOX News 娛樂專欄作家 Roger Friedman 的報導 (他也是上次獨家披露惠妮破產消息的人)，經過一整年的勒戒和調養，惠妮從 3/13 起正式投入新專輯的籌備工作，Clive Davis 已經從各大知名詞曲人手中網羅了七首好歌，其中包括R. Kelly和芭樂教母 Diane Warren的作品，一向以翻唱口水歌見長的惠妮，這次也可能翻唱一首 Julia Fordham 的 "Angel Without Wings"。

有鑒於 Mariah Carey 的成功復出，Clive 特別找來 We Belong Together 的作曲人 Johnta Austin 量身打造惠妮的復出新歌，這將是專輯第一首開始錄製的歌曲。大家很關心的聲音部分，據說惠妮目前正在接受發聲教練的指導，調整狀態準備出發，Roger 說他將會持續地追蹤惠妮的動態，大家拭目以待。

第一位 - John Legend - (born John Stephens on December 28, 1978 in Springfield, Ohio) is a five-time Grammy Award winning R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist. His debut studio album, the platinum selling Get Lifted, was released in late 2004. It features collaborations with rapper and producer Kanye West as well as rapper Snoop Dogg and the singles "Used To Love U" (US top 100, UK top 30) and "Ordinary People" (US and UK top 30). He also collaborated with Slum Village on the song "Selfish" (US top 100), also featuring Kanye West. Legend also played the piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything is Everything" and sang background vocals on Jay-Z's "Encore," Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name," and Fort Minor's "High Road." He has a brother, Vaughn Anthony, who is also a singer.

Gets Best Contemporary R&B Album Grammy for Mariah's 'The Emancipation of Mimi.'

New York City -- The Midas touch continues as Mega-Producer/Songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox received the Grammy for Best R&B Album of the year for the second year in a row, during last nights show.

Cox co-wrote and produced several songs, on what many called the biggest music comeback of the decade, Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi." Bryan Michael Cox and his Midas touch helped catapult Mariah Carey's album, as two of the golden boy's songs ended up as consecutive No. 1 Billboard hits for Carey, including "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us." An outstanding achievement as Carey attained her 17th No. 1 single poising her to surpass the King of Rock, Elvis Presley, as the artist with the most No. 1 hits in this era.

In 2005, Bryan Michael Cox garnered four Grammy Nominations, two with Mariah Carey's, "The Emancipation of Mimi," one for "Best R&B Album" with Fantasia and another for "Best Contemporary R&B Album" with Destiny's Child.

 

[Religion News Source 的新聞] Media Monitors 是美國一家專門監控廣告在媒體閱聽率的公司，根據他們的統計資料，惠妮的 Do You Hear What I Hear 是去年感恩節到耶誕節這段期間內，最常被播放的"宗教類型"歌曲。此項統計資料來自 Media Monitors 公司追蹤全美前50大市場中，50個專播放耶誕歌曲的電台。

看到這裡，你可能會想...「那 Mariah 的 All I Want For Xmas Is You 呢？」

根據Media Monitors的統計，這些電台播放的耶誕歌曲資料庫裡，約有25%的歌曲本質上跟宗教有關。所以像All I Want For Xmas Is You 這種流行的歌詞是不符合"宗教類型"的定義，因此沒被排進去。這項調查的前三名依序是惠妮的 Do You Hear What I Hear、Josh Groban 的 O Holy Night 和 Bob Seger 的 Little Drummer Boy。

最近以一首 Don't Cha 走紅的新團體 The Pussycat Dolls 接受電台訪問時爆料，她們專輯中的一首歌 How Many Times, How Many Lies 原唱者其實是惠妮。這首歌是永遠的芭樂教母 Diane Warren 為惠妮量身打造，準備收錄在 Just Whitney 專輯中，惠妮的確錄好了這首歌，但最後卻沒被 LA Reid 採用。

一年前 The Pussycat Dolls 跟 Diane 邀歌時，她放了惠妮版本的這首歌給這幾個小女孩聽，她們一聽愛不釋手馬上決定重唱並收錄在專輯裡。她們很謙虛的說：「我們很愛惠妮的版本，非常優美且靈魂，希望我們沒有把這首歌唱糟！」(文後可下載試聽)

先講壞消息 - 根據SonyBMG Poland的發行schedule，惠妮原訂於今年年底(11月/12月)發行的新專輯，將延後到2006年4月，雖然愛惠的孩子們對於放羊的惠妮早已習以為常，但想到又要多等快半年還是一個不爽！想必是目前錄出來的作品通通被Clive Davis退貨吧？希望多這半年是值得的！

幫惠妮製作出多首金曲的Narada Michael Walden將與惠妮再度合作!! 他在自己的網站中留下這樣的訊息：

Access Hollywood has learned that embattled pop diva Whitney Houston will return to the studio in ten days under mentor Clive Davis's supervision.
 

Access Holywood報導：Clive Davis表示，惠妮目前必須先處理好她的私人問題，才能開始新專輯的錄音工作，所以原定於今年11月發行的新專輯將無限期延後。

Pop, R&B Hits Get 'Superstar' Remixes

Hits from Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Maroon5, Kelis and Pink are reimagined on the upcoming compilation "Superstars Remixed," due May 10 from Sony BMG Strategic Marketing. The album sports remixes from such dance notables as JXL, Hex Hector, Armand Van Helden and Junior Vasquez, among others.

Spears' "Toxic" is remixed by Van Helden, while Hector takes on Lopez's "Waiting for Tonight," Deborah Cox's "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" and Toni Braxton's Unbreak My Heart." Elsewhere, Vasquez remixes Maroon5's "This Love," Peter Rauhofer updates Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" and Victor Calderone revamps Beyonce's "Naughty Girl."

The set is rounded out by remixes of cuts by Kelly Clarkson, Duran Duran, Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Monica, Whitney Houston and Fantasia.

Stunning singer Alicia Keys plans to get Whitney Houston back on top with a new track that she's penned for the soul star. The all-conquering Falling star has had a track planned with the singing diva for some time, as she told my mole: "We were supposed to hook up for the last album, after all we were both discovered by the same manager but the whole idea fell through."

She adds: "It's looking great as I have written a duet for her and she loves it! We plan to get it down and onto the next album. I drew on her for inspiration, she was the voice that made me want to become a musician and I'm overjoyed that she loves the track." All That I Can Give will show just what a fine performer Whitney is... and please those fans who've missed her - including Alicia.

 

還記得前一陣子讓大家笑了很久的BMG星光樂廊Artist Collection系列CD/DVD嗎？ 根據愛惠網的Sony BMG特派員表示，惠妮這一系列的發行都遭到腰斬，所以CD首批賣完就不再壓，而原本就延期發行的DVD更慘，永遠都不會上市！不過經過我不屈不撓用力給它Google一下，竟然發現一個日本的CD網站有在賣！更美妙的是，這個網站全英文化的，超貼心！從來沒想到我這種日文白癡也可以享受逛日本shopping網站的樂趣！哈哈！
